In health today, Mr. Ness noticed that many kids did not have their notes done. He sent home copies today with some kids to get caught up. Their first quarter test is next Tuesday. They need to know the information by memory and will not be allowed to use their notes. They took a practice test today. Remember Health is half of their PE grade. An A in PE and an F in Health could pull the full grade down to a C or D. Study, Study! Due to this catch up writing, I did not assign additional writing tonight.
How is the reading calendars coming along? Are your kids reading 20 minutes at least a night. Remember ALL students are required to read 600 minutes this month and turn in a signed calendar. This includes Read 180 students. I will give the grade to their teacher, Mrs. Betts. If your child is on track with their reading write the word READ in their planners for a $50 bonus during Character Circle meeting tomorrow.
Book orders came in today. Thanks to all that ordered. I was able to order 6 new books for free for our classroom library. I am excited to share them with the students. Thanks again. New book orders will go home tomorrow. They will be due by Thursday, Oct. 28th. Remember kids earn $200 per book they order. Some kids could use that extra cash right now. Great way to spend that allowance money!!!
I passed back the Ch. 1 math tests today. All but three passed with great scores. Those that did not are in the process of reteaching and will take Form B tomorrow for a better score. I am so proud of all the students for doing their best! I will send them home for your viewing on Friday with their weekly grade report. If you want to know sooner, just send me a text or email.
