Another SUPER Day!!!

I am not exactly sure what the turn around is, but I am loving it. Kids are on task and they are working heard from the minute they step in to the minute we leave. Awesome!!

Tomorrow is the last day to order books from the book order. I have posted the online information off to the right of this blog, along with the class code. Thanks for supporting reading at home!

Today we began to watch the movie, Miracle. The kids were able to see some of the connections between myself and Coach Brooks. They saw that in all things, serious attitudes get serious results. They learned that coaches and teachers both have goals and agendas for their teams or classrooms. Those objectives or standards have to be taught in order to become strong as a unit. We will finish the movie tomorrow as we work on our state reports again. I am impressed with the amount of knowledge they are learning on their states and can't wait to hear them share all about it.

The Math and Science Night is this Friday for 4th -6th graders only. MSU-B is having guests come in and run three different science experiments for kids to try. They will rotate through them. The class with the most participation will will a pizza party for the entire class. YUMMMY!! We can do this. Just show up tomorrow night from 6:30-8:00 in the gym for some wacky and crazy science fun!! Also, kids that still have their beaver damns at home are encouraged to bring them in that night and set them up on the Erickson tables. Students that do this will earn $100. Just write a note in the planner. Students that attend this awesome event will also earn $100. Please keep in mind that this is a Family Night. It is not encouraged to just drop off your child. Come in and have some fun with them. Memories....

We have discovered, with the help of Jeff the Nature Guy, that our turtles need a heat lamp. I was going to only leave them here for this week, but I think they are going to stay for awhile. The kids have really liked watching them. However, I don't have a heat lamp. Do you?? Do you have one that we could borrow for a short while? I will return it when we are done. Their water is supposed to be between 70-80 degrees, but it is now in the low 60's. I add hot water, but it just isn't working. If possible, could you send in one if you have one just hanging out somewhere? I know that Bob, Bob, Bob, and Bob would appreciate it. Thanks.

Tomorrow is Friday. That means spelling tests and PE shoes.

Lastly, we talked today about the phrase, Honesty is the Best Policy. We viewed the video in class today during our CC meeting. Watch the video with or without your kid. Have a discussion about it or just laugh together as we did, and write the word HONESTY in your child's planner for a $10 reward tomorrow. I know I have heard this in my house before!!! :0)

Have a great night!
