Well, I hope that all of you survived the rain. Our land was completely under water as you can see in the pictures. Good thing our house is up on a hill! It was quite the wet weekend. But, as I write this now, it is sunshine and dry land!! Yay!
Looks like we are going to be ok for Tuesday at the Nature Center. How awesome is it that Jeff the Nature Guy is now going to be running the Billing's Zoo now too!! WooHoo!! He is one amazing fella. Don't forget they will need a packed lunch, sunscreen, a hat, long pants, and layered clothing. Umbrellas might still be wise in the backpacks.
On Monday, we will be holding a drawing for a special prize when we visit the Nature Center. One lucky student will be selected to go into the friendly bobcat's cage with Jeff the Nature Guy to do some special activities in front of the class. There will be one winner from our class and one from Mrs. Hankin's class. Students will purchase tickets with their fake money for $100 each. Then all the tickets will be put into a bowl and one will be drawn out. Students may buy as many tickets as they want. There is no limit. I will remind them to keep some money out for other upcoming events. If you would like your child to be able to buy tickets write the word BOBCAT in their planner. If you don't want your child to do this, then write NO BOBCAT in their planner. Doing this will also earn them $20. Hmmmm...who will the lucky student be??
