I Need Your Help Tonight!

Oh my I need your help. We are in week three now, and I am still trying to get some students to understand that homework is not optional in my classroom. I had 6 kids with me during recess doing their nightly writing journal because they failed to do it at home. I am hoping that you are reading what they write and having discussions at home. MANY kids are not using proper capitalization and MANY MANY are writing one sentence that is a half page long. Please encourage and discuss proper grammar that 4th graders should know by now. Thanks for your help!

Thank you to those of you that came to Open House last night. A lot of information for parents ears only was discussed. I appreciate the fact that you came to listen and help your child. Nicolette, Jordan, Trenton, Zach, Brandon, Emma, Tanner, Hailey, Cameron, and Keyonna also appreciated you earning them an extra $500 for coming! :0) I appreciate YOU!

Book orders for September came home tonight. Orders are due Sept. 30th. For each book your child orders I will grant them $200. When your child orders books, I earn bonus points which I use to order books for our classroom library and CC meetings. We all win. You may order online (see sheet I attached for directions) or by turning in the regular form with your check. They do not take cash, and neither do I. When looking through the book order I recommend the following books:
#16, Chasing Lincoln's Killer
#25, Dexter the Tough
#27, A Dog's Life
#81, Battle Heroes
#7, Before Columbus
#75, The Shadow Children Collection (SCARY!)
#8, The Best Worst Best Halloween Ever (I will be reading this aloud in class in Oct! Funny!)

Speaking of books, tomorrow we have library class. PLEASE REMIND KIDS TO BRING THEIR BOOKS TOMORROW!!!!

Have a great evening!

Oh, and ask your child what the words pledge, liberty, and justice in the pledge mean. Write the word pledge in their planner and earn them an extra $50 tomorrow. (They should say pledge means promise, liberty means freedom, and justice means fairness.)
