Today we had a very special guest speaker....RUSTY!! The man behind the show we watch every morning at our character circle. He was in town doing some assemblies from San Francisco and he dropped in to visit. He spoke to the kids about staying drug free and how it affects their bodies and lives long term. Pretty cool!
We also had a group of high school students that had some experience with drugs and alcohol talk to us today. It was very emotional and a huge eye opener. Many of them started experimenting with drugs at a very young age. They also shared about how they lost trust from their moms and dads. Very powerful.
Tomorrow I am out. I know that the day is going to go GREAT! The kids have done so much better since the last sub and all they need to do is keep doing what they are doing. I am proud of them already.
Reading calendars are due Monday. There will be no exceptions made. Report cards come home next Tuesday. There are some pretty scary library and Health grades. Missing work and missing books are the fastest way to earn a D or an F. It will be a tough lesson for some. I am pretty proud of all the grades overall though. I can't wait to see how quarter two goes!
Book orders are due tomorrow. Remember you can order online too.
Kids need to bring their bag of fresh fallen leaves tomorrow. We started collecting them on our beaver field trip. They need all different shapes, sizes, and colors. They will use them for a cool Native American project tomorrow with Mrs. Hankin's class.
Tomorrow is the last day of drug free week. It is Team up Against Drugs day. Kids can earn $100 dollars if they wear their favorite team clothing. This can be any team. Yes!
Have a wonderful Halloween and be safe. As for me I am going to Chico for my birthday and then trick or treating with my little spiderman and witch. Fun times!!
