As I mentioned to the kids today, I will be out on Thursday and Friday. The kids will have their first sub. They will have the same sub both days. I know they will do great! Because of this, we did our fieldtrip slips today for the Nile. We go next week on Monday afternoon. Please fill out the form. Kids had to pay their $1000 fake money to buy in today. If they could not, they marked the appropriate box on the slip. It still needs your signature. Students MAY NOT borrow money from other students to get into the fieldtrip. If they have not made good choices, then they do not deserve to go. Students MAY NOT try to make quick deals with me in order to go. This should have been on their mind every day since day one. We still have two more fieldtrips this month, so hopefully they get to go on those. I will NOT change my mind on this matter. Permission slips MUST be returned tomorrow, as I will be gone for the rest of the week. Don't forget to mark their lunch option as well.
Today a slip was also sent home for our first Bitterroot Rachel's Challenge Act of Kindness. We will be participating in the weed pulling contest in order to make our Earth more beautiful. This in partnership with my good friends the Montana Conservation Corp and the folks out at the Audubon Center. Both these groups do a ton for Billings Public Schools. The pull is this Sat from 9-11:30 at Norms Island. That is right across the street from Riverfront park. Instead of turning Left to Riverfront, turn right to Norms island. Follow the dirt road to the Audubon Conservation Center Building. You will see the MCC rigs there as well. I will be there for a bit but the moving truck comes to my house that day as well. Kids will earn $1000 if they attend. Parents must attend with their child. I know Mr. Senitte will be there as well. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
It is Mackenzie River Pizza night tonight. Come have dinner and part of your bill goes back to Bitterroot. Attend and write a note in your child's planner and they will earn $500.
We have finished up our first units in math and language. Tests will be given this week. Yay! We are also finishing up with Hurricanes and are writing what we learned in paragraph form. Oh my! Next we will be going into Beavers and their habitats. Anyone have a little plastic kid pool we could borrow in a couple of weeks??? Please let me know. We will take as many as we can get!
Have a great night!
