Now, it is time to look forward to the next busy week. It is Red Ribbon Week next week. I have posted the upcoming activities off to the side. Kids will earn $100 each day that they participate in the fun spirit days starting with tomorrow's Life Without Drugs...No Sweat Day. Kids are asked to show that they are going to live a drug free life by wearing their sweats and sweatshirts tomorrow. Extra $100 to those that wear red ones!
Tomorrow is the field trip to the Jail. We are so excited! Look for photos and video on the blog tomorrow. Remember parents are welcome to meet us there at 9:15 if you would like to see the tour as well. We will be back by noon for lunch at school. There are five students that will not be attending the trip. The ones that are staying behind due to parent permission will spend their time helping little kids (a great way to have a drug free life: volunteer to help others). Those that were not able to buy in with their fake money will be doing some extra work in another classroom. They will be reflecting on what happened and why they were not able to join us. If this is your child, a note went home in their planner last Wednesday.
Friday is redemption day. Kids will have the same sub as last time. I will be gone as I am going to Chico to celebrate my birthday with some family and friends. Yes, I am a Halloween baby! I know that kids are going to rock their best behavior and make themselves proud! I am already so proud of all the progress they have made since the last time the sub was here. Go Team!!!
How are those final beaver projects coming along? The guideline sheet went home with ALL kids last Wednesday. I advised that they start their project over the long weekend. It is not due until Wednesday however. Students were to select one project to do. They must make a 3D visual aide to show their learning, and the learning must be displayed clearly in the model. Students will present them on Wednesday afternoon after we get back from the Beaver field trip. Then I would like to display them through the following week in the hallway. Please DO NOT bring in finished projects until Wednesday morning. I have no room to store them. Thanks. Have fun!!!
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up the first week of November. Your scheduled time will be sent home this next week. I tried my best to accommodate your requests. If the time does not work, please call the OFFICE to reschedule. At this point, I have no control over the schedule. Can't wait to just sit and visit with each of you!
Halloween is also approaching. Here, at Bitterroot, we do not wear our costumes to school. There is a Halloween party Friday night. Those that attend will earn $500. I believe the cost is $5 for kids to get in. Every thing is included with that. I also believe that if you bring donated food there is a discounted price. I am sure a flyer will come home this week. It has been super fun for the past few years and I know it will be the best one yet this year. Plan to attend! :0)
Mail continue to trickle in! Tanner, Emma, Brandon and Nicolette were pretty excited last week. I was also brought to tears by your kind words to me. Keep them coming!
Well, that is all I can think of on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see ya tomorrow in your sweats!
Parents that write the phrase Life Without Drugs...No Sweat! in their child's planner will earn their child an extra $50 on Monday's check in. DRUG FREE!!
