Tomorrow we will have our 7's test. We discovered in class today that we only have three new facts to learn (well, for those that know all the others we have tested on). Please have your child do the laminated 7's card tonight and play a few games on the computer. I really am impressed at how many kids are zipping right through these! :0)
I have noticed that the planners are getting a little sloppy and lazy. Kids need to be writing down EVERYTHING I write, just like I write it. I noticed that kids are leaving off problem numbers, page numbers, and other important information. Planners are for kids to know their assignments and for parents to know what your child is doing in school all day. Please take a moment tonight and look at their planner. Does it match the one off to the right of this blog exactly? If so, please write the word PLANNER in their planner to earn an extra $100 tomorrow at check in. If they are abbreviating or leaving off information then do NOT write the code word. If your child is in READ 180, then your child's reading, language, and spelling will be different then mine, but all the rest should be the same. Thanks.
Today we learned why the makers of thermometers did not pick water as the liquid inside it. Ask your child why this was. It has to do with the phase changes water goes through at different temperatures. If they can tell you about this in their words, write the word TEMPERATURE in their planner for a $50 bonus.
We have PE tomorrow. Your child has to sit out and receive an F if they do not have PE shoes on. They may NOT wear their snow boots. Please make sure kids have their gym shoes in their backpacks to change into. Thanks.
