In saying that, this is what I mean...
Math: Basic Multiplication Facts 0-12 and two digit by two digit multiplication
Reading: Finish the novel, Owls in the Family
Social Studies: SE Region, States and Capitals Test
Science: How does a thermometer really work anyway?
Other: Polar Express Day and Holidays Around the World Study
Last Friday, we joined Mrs. Hankin's class for a Social Studies Lab. We read a Native American Legend about how the cranberry came to be a part of the Turkey dinner. If your child can tell you the story, write the word CRANE BERRY in their planner for a $50 bonus at tomorrow's check in. Also ask them which way they preferred their cranberries: juice, whole jelly, jellied, or fresh?? Those faces were pretty fun to watch, especially the fresh berry one. Bitter!!
Hopefully your child was able to study their multiplication facts at least 15 minutes a day. We will have a review quiz tomorrow over 0-6, and 9-11s. I have been very impressed with how many students and parents are taking this skill so seriously. Many, many students know these facts like they know their names. You have no idea how this makes their lives easier in math to come! THANKS!!
On Monday, we will have our Washington DC guest speaker (Mr. Chase) back. He will finish his slide show and picture explanations. Can't wait!!
See you then!
