Hi there. What a great day of meetings to inspire even more to teach your child. Then I was able to finish up report cards and send those off to Mr. Senitte.
I hope that you had a great day off with your child. Hopefully you were able to pick up the tri-fold foam board for their upcoming Social Studies project. They will need their boards no later than next Monday the 24th. I showed the kids a model of the board I believe will work the best. Please take them with you when shopping. Thanks.
Last Friday at Character Circle, I shared with the kids a very cool project that we will be participating in. In honor of Rachel's Challenge, I would like to do something nice for our soldiers. Many of you know about Sgt. Fink. The class has been following him on his tour overseas. One of the things that he mentioned missing out on is Girl Scout Cookies. So, I thought we could do an Operation Cookie Drop. If possible, I would encourage each child to bring in $3.50 to buy a box of cookies for a soldier in Sgt. Finks platoon. Then we will write a personalized message to them, attach them, and I will mail them to Sgt. Fink. He will then pass them out to the soldiers under his command. He is going to love this. They all will love this! What a simple way to say thank you for putting their lives on the line for all of us. Please send in your money by this Friday. Thanks! Earn your child an extra $10 tomorrow at check in if you write the words OPERATION COOKIE DROP in their planner. This also lets me know that you saw this. Thanks.
Students will have a sub tomorrow afternoon. It will be Mrs. Zimmerman. I get to attend the afternoon at my son, Beau's, preschool conference. Man they grow up fast don't they.
Have a great night and see ya in the morning.
