The lower pictures are of the kids making their snowman pictures. They were created out of shaving cream and glue. We had some pretty creative thinking going on. As you can see with Zack, he was inspired by trying on his snowman's accessories on himself. Fun times with Mrs. Hankin's class. This week we will write some poetry about our fun snow creatures.
Venture theater practice starts tomorrow after school from 3:15-5:15. Please make pick-up or walk home arrangements BEFORE school. All students that tried out made the play. If your child came home with a manilla envelope they were selected for a speaking part and need to start to memorize their parts. All kids will do all the songs and dancing. No worries, everyone is very involved in these plays!
Recorders start tomorrow as well. If students are using their own recorder then they need to bring it with them tomorrow. All and any students are welcome to borrow a recorder from Bitterroot. I told students that I expect them to have their contract signed tomorrow. The signed contract allows students to bring home the recorder to practice. If they don't have a signed contract they will only be allowed to use the recorder in class. Students will perform a recorder concert for you, so you can see why practice at home will be crucial to build their confidence and get everything out of the experience as they possibly can. During this time, it will also be important that practicing for ten to fifteen minutes each night. Thanks for all your help and support in advance.
As you might have heard, cold is on the menu for the week. Please make sure that kids have layers on and all their winter clothing. Kids need to have hats, gloves, boots, warm coats, and snowpants in order to stay warm at recess. We will go out as long as it is above zero with the windchill factor. BRRRR!
