Today's Happenings

Another busy day in room Erickson. Some kids learned the hard way today that I am not kidding when I say if you are not serious about learning than I am not serious about teaching you. Some kids were asked to leave the classroom today and learn without a teacher. They discovered that they didn't do so well without the help, discussions, and interactions with others that happens every day inside the four classroom walls. It is time to get serious, and I am tired of the ones that think that homework is optional and that staring out the window is a way to listen in class. It is not fair to your kids that want to learn without interruption. I gotta say, it was nice not having to stop and discipline all day. We spent a lot more time on task and laughing together. Tomorrow is always a new day, and I hope that tomorrow every one that walks through my classroom door is ready and serious about their education, and has ALL of their homework DONE!

Book orders are due this Friday. Remember, kids earn $50 for each book ordered, or $100 per book if they order online. I see many have already done this. Kids will get paid on Monday. Speaking of Monday, the January calendars will be due. Read, read, read until then.

Kids had music homework in their green practice book. It is due tomorrow. They need to remember their recorders as well.

Tomorrow will be an important day when it comes to our state reports. We will be learning how to find, copy, paste, and resize pictures. Kids will only have one class period to do this. Otherwise, they will have to go with the black and white pictures instead of Mr. Senitte's color printer.

The Valentine's Day party will be happening in 21 days. Does your child have at least $500 in their wallet? Ask them and write Yes or No in their planner for $20 at tomorrow's check in. If they say no, what are they going to do to try to earn it before the party? The Valentine's Day party is by far the funnest party of the year. They don't want to miss it!! If they are unable to buy in, they will not participate. They also will not need to do Valentine cards for others either. I will send home the list of classmate/teacher's names for Valentine's Day cards the first week of February. Fun!!

Well, that about wraps up our day. Have a great night and cya tomorrow! Happy Birthday Audrey!!!! Thanks for the super yummy cupcakes!
