Testing this week!

Hi there. I hope you had a great weekend! It was so awesome to see so many of you at the carnival last Friday night! What a great way to spend a cold night. Thanks again for all the donated cakes and cupcakes. We had the perfect amount, and they were all yummy looking and creative. Thanks!

Above is a slide show from when MCC (Montana Conservation Corps) came to our reading class to teach us a lot about surviving in the wilderness. We have been reading the book Rescue Josh McGuire in class. It is about a little boy that finds an orphaned bear cub and runs away with it. He faces many challenges in the wilderness trying to survive. Since we live in prime camping country I thought it would be a great learning experience to have them come in and teach us how to survive in the wilderness. And, learn they did!!

Testing season is upon us. We will be taking the Science MontCAS test this week on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Next week we will take the Reading session and the week after that will be math. Please make sure kids are here on time every day with a good breakfast in their belly. Kids that miss the scheduled testing time will have to make it up. This stinks because they don't get to take it in the classroom and with me. Therefore, they tend to rush and feel uncomfortable. I can't wait to see how much they have grown academically this year!! Time to shine little diamonds!!

Midterms went home last Friday. Please look them over and check for missing work. They need to be returned to class with your signature tomorrow for a $100 payout. Write the word MIDTERM in their planner and I will up it to $110 payout!

Students need to bring back their Read-A-Thon envelope tomorrow. Student council would like to get a count of where we are at with our minutes thus far. They will have one more week to read, read, read. Students that bring in their envelope tomorrow will earn a $100 payout.
