Today in CC meeting we talked about the TV show M.A.S.H. It's last episode was aired 28 years ago on today's date. That means some of you may have seen it. Write YES in the planner if you did see it and NO if you did not. Kids will earn $10 at check in. Earn an extra $40 if you can find out what M.A.S.H stands for. Just write it in the planner too.
We have been working hard on our states and capitals in the Midwest region. Test will be this Friday. Study, Study.
Independent spelling tests came home tonight to study. From this point on, students will only be given two chances to pass. So those that did not pass today MUST pass tomorrow. It is not realistic to allow a child to take the same test up to five times. Please study at home with them. On two occasions I have stayed in at recess and studied with kids for only 15 minutes. Then, they were able to pass the test. Help them find little words or little riddles to help them spell basic words correctly. For example the word measure. I tell them it is me a sure! Now, they know it.
Many kids did not have their writing done for today. It was the only homework for the weekend. Please check their notebook nightly. Thanks.
Tomorrow is March 1st. WooHoo!!! That means that the February calendars are due tomorrow. Please remind your child to bring them in. Thanks.
