Testing Tomorrow.

Hi there.

MontCAS testing starts tomorrow at 10:00 am. Please make sure your child does the following...
1. Gets a good nights sleep, recommended bed time is 8:30.
2. Is at school on time.
3. Has a good breakfast full of protein and NOT sugar.
4. Goes out the door with a hug and I am proud of you statement.
5. Brings a protein snack to eat before the test. (Hard boiled egg, peanut butter, nuts, lunch meat, cheese stick...) If bringing an egg, please take off the shell in advance.

All I expect for kids on tests is that they take their time and do their very best. Tomorrow and Thursday we have the science portion. I can't wait to see what they produce and how much they shine. We have done some really great things in science this year!!! Now, it is time for them to apply all that they have learned! Time to shine!!!!

Volcano "how to make it" sheets came home today. Kids were advised to start building them today. It takes a while to dry so they need to build on it a little each night. We are also holding a "most creative volcano" contest. Kids may decorate, paint, prop, background, whatever to their volcano. They need to make sure that they do NOT go above the top of the fat part of the soda bottle. We have to be able to unscrew the top by holding on to the top. We went over how to do all of the steps in class. Have fun with this, and we totally encourage you to make it a family event. Just don't unscrew the top! :0) Volcanoes are due next Monday morning.

Does your child have their music homework done for tomorrow? Please remind them. If everyone has it done, I will reward the entire class with $50 each. Also, please help them remember to put their recorders in their backpacks for tomorrow.

Today we took our Ch. 8 S.S. test today on the Midwest. States and capitals test is this Friday. We also designed a Model T Ford Car like they do in Detroit, Michigan. Ask your child to share theirs and write the word CAR in their planner for a $20 bonus at check in. Fun and Creative!

Yearbook orders are due this Friday. You have to prepay this year. You can get new forms in the office if you have misplaced yours. Kids love these, and I still have many of mine from when I was their age.

Hopefully your child is reading at least 24 minutes every night and marking it on their Read-A-Thon envelope. All children need to do this even if they don't have a sponsor. We need to read 45,000 minutes as a school in order to see Mr. Senitte sawed in half at the spaghetti dinner and magic show. Speaking of that, have you reserved your seat for that?? It is on March 11th at 6:30. Seats are limited and filling up fast. Call the office for details.

Well, I think that is enough for one night. :0) Have a good one! Stay warm...again!!
