As you know, today was the last day to buy into the Valentine's Day Party. I have deleted the names of those that were unable to buy in and wrote a note in their planner to you. Many kids buckled down this week and got it done. I was proud of all of those that were able to get it together and buy in today!!! That shows me that you are learning and growing! Now, keep going!

Paper Plates, Cups, and Napkins: Jacob and Trenton
Clean Up Crew: Destiny, Brooke, and Hunter
We will meet tomorrow and finalize plans. That way if a trip to a store for items is needed they have the weekend. Can't wait to see what they come up with this year.
Library Books are due back tomorrow. Students that bring them back will earn $50. Those that forget will pay me $50. Put them in the backpack right now before you forget kiddos!!!
Today in my reading class we shared our Bio-Poems in class. If your child brought theirs home, have them share it with you and write the name of their Character in their planner for $20 at check in. THEY HAVE TO HAVE IT AND READ IT TO YOU!!!!!!! (Not from memory because it is sitting here in their desk.)
READ 180 kids, Mrs. Betts has a challenge for you! If you can tell your parents the name of the vocabulary strategy (helping you figure out what words mean) you have been working on in class for the past two days have your parent write the strategy name in your planner for a $20 bonus at tomorrow's check in.
The other day I sent home a sheet on our upcoming Winter Carnival. We will be building a basket but Mrs. Hankins and I will get all the items. In order to pay for these items we will be holding a fun day. Remember these???? This Friday, kids may bring in i-pods, a stuffed animal, a soda, and/or chew gum for the day. Each fun activity will cost a donation of $1. So, if they want to chew gum and bring a soda then it costs $2 and so on. All money collected will go toward buying items for our carnival basket.
At the carnival itself, we will be doing the ever so popular cake walk. We will need many, many, many donations of cakes, cupcakes, plates of cookies, whatever to be given away as prizes. Our booth is always super popular, so we need to not run out of goods! Each cake or pan of goods will be worth $50 (fake money) each. We will need them on Friday, February 25th. (Not before please). Thanks!!!!
Well, that about covers it. Hopefully tomorrow we will wake up to sunshine and NO wind!! :0)
