There is an open gym this Friday night. There will be a lot of fun activities for all to do. Last time, I ended up racing parents down the hall on little floor scooters. The Hula Hoop section was also a blast from the past!! I have no idea what events they will have this time, but it will be a load of fun I am sure.
This Friday is also a spirit day. Kids may find a friend and dress as TWINs. Start planning your costumes now. :0)
This Friday is also a Fun Friday. Kids may buy into the following events for $1 each. We will be having these often as we want to take a costly end of the year fieldtrip to Red Lodge. This will help cut the cost of each student when that time comes...a layaway plan if you will. :0)
1. Music devices such as Ipods or MP3 players.
2. Bring your cameras to take photos of friends.
3. Eat in the Classroom or outside if it is nice with the teacher.
4. Bring a soda or juice drink to drink after lunch.
My reading class will begin to read their new novel, Riding Freedom this week. It is set back in the 1800's, which is perfect because we just studied that era in S.S. It has to do with horses, women's suffrage, and stagecoaches. To introduce the book and to learn more about horses, we will have three guest speakers with horses on campus this Wednesday morning. We will learn a ton by watching a lot of hands on stuff. If your child is allergic to horses, as I am, please let me know soon so I know to get them back or in an alternative place. We will be outside and no one will be riding the horses except their owners. Awesome real world experience!!! Wow!
Ask your child about Sir Issac Newton and what they did in class today to introduce our new science unit. If they can share with you, write the word NEWTON in their planner for a $20 bonus at check in.
Have a great evening!
