Tomorrow our guest speakers will be here in reading class. Don't want to miss this one.
We started Ch. 10 in Social Studies: The South West Region. There are only four states and capitals this time. Easy Cheesey!! Check the side for a study guide. Test will be not this Friday but the next. We will be skyping in with a 4th grade class in New Mexico next Friday as well. Very different from Montana!! Have a discussion about what your child might want to know about that state. If they can come up with something that would be educational for the class, write the word NEW MEXICO in their planner for a $10 bonus at check in. I will also record the question they came up with.
Today in CC meeting we talked about the difference between adult issues and child issues. Many kids thought it was their job to worry about if they had a roof over their head, food on their table, and clothes that fit their body. Many!! I helped them understand that ten year olds are not supposed to worry about these kinds of things. They should be worried about homework, playing outside, friends, and feeding their pets. If your child is worried about these issues they need to talk with a loving adult like Miss. Butler. We have many ways at Bitterroot to help. Please talk to your child tonight and reassure them that you are the mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, caretaker and that they only need to worry about being a kid right now. I was very surprised how many kids were taking on those types of thoughts.
Well, have a wonderful night and I will see your little diamonds in the morning!
