Happy Sunday...More Snow for us! My goodness this has been a high precipitation winter for us. I think Spring will be a warm welcome from all of us. Can't wait to shed off the coats, boots, hats and mittens. This weekend was spent watching more calves come into the world and some quality family time. I hope yours was as well.
Hopefully everyone was able to finish up their volcanoes. They are due tomorrow. If your child has been sick then of course they may bring them in at a later date if needed. Looking ahead at the weather, I am guessing that we will not awaken our dormant volcanoes until Wednesday. So, as long as everyone has them by then we should be good to go. If your child was at school all last week, theirs are due tomorrow for a grade and to be displayed. We will also start the judging of the most creative volcano tomorrow as well. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize from both 4th grade classes combined. So, finish up those last minute small details tonight. Please have kids bring in the volcanoes and down to our room tomorrow morning. There are tables in the hall. If you discuss this with your child please write the words TABLE IN HALLWAY in their planner. This will help everyone in the morning. Thanks!
We start our Reading MontCAS testing this week. We will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday morning. Please remember to pack those high protein snacks on those days. Kids may also bring to gum to chew on during the test. Research shows that both of these things really do help stimulate better brain alertness. I am proud of all they have done so far. We have worked very hard in reading all year, and I am eager to see them shine this week!
I will be out of the building this Thursday. The students will have a sub all day.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I will see you all tomorrow!
PS. I just wanted to share the fun photos of my kids feeding the calves out here. Childhood memories are amazing!!! Hope you were able to make some this weekend as well!
