What a Fun Day!!!

Well today we had an amazingly wonderful treat. Cole and Zach Grewell brought Bar, the horse, to visit the class. He spent almost two hours going over every aspect of a horses life and how to take care of one. We learned SOOOOOO much. It was an amazing resource for the book we are reading. Even Read 180 came out and is now going to read the book, Riding Freedom, as well. Yay!!! Cole talked about many of the tools and vocabulary words we have read or will read about. Seeing them in real life will help bring the book come to life in these kids eyes! I am so grateful that we were able to bring this experience to your kids. In Montana, horses are such a part of our history and life today. It really was a lot of fun. Thanks Cole, Zach, and Bar!!!! Ask your child to explain the pictures below. If they can tell you what is going on, write the word HORSE in their planner for a $20 bonus tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone that sat down with your kids last night and discussed their goals on their report cards. I appreciate you and so does your child, even though they may not realize that yet.

Tomorrow we will have our states and capitals test for the SW. Today, we started our journey into the West. Yep...our region. This will conclude our US regional study. We will end the year with Montana History. I will list the States and Capitals for the West Region tomorrow after the test.

March Reading Calendars are Due TOMORROW!!! Please send them in with your kiddos.

Don't forget the MCC Volunteer Opportunity this Saturday from 9-Noon at Coulson Park down by the Yellowstone River North of the Energy Plant. Families attending will earn your child $1000. Go Team Erickson. I want to attend, and am really planning on at least making an appearance, but with my bumb knee I am limited in trail work. MCC rocks though and loves Ms. Erickson's class. They do a lot with your kids! Thanks for supporting them and out Earth.

Lastly, we will be having a candy auction tomorrow to spend some of our hard earned cash. Students will be reminded of their end of the year field trip that will cost $1000 to buy into. They will want to save at least that much, if not more. If it were me, I would save $2000 just in case. Many kids have a lot of money and will enjoy buying a treat tomorrow. :0)

Have a great night!

PS-The Twin Day pictures are below on a new post. Enjoy!
