Hi, and Welcome Back!
As you know, I was at the doctors this morning. What you don't know is that the doctor has scheduled surgery for me this Thursday. Yes, like in three days. It is not the big surgery, just going in and scraping away scar tissue and floating objects. I have not been able to progress in therapy the way they would like, and they believe that something is in the way in there. So, they are going in with a scope and cleaning it up. It is an out-patient procedure, and I will be back to school (and full time limping) on Monday. Then the therapy starts all over again. However, I have been assured that the process will go very fast and I am hoping to be as good as new by our Red Lodge Trip. However, I will not be as good as new by our Pompey's Pillar trip. I will have a sub this Thursday and Friday. The kids will still go on the trip. Mrs. Hankins will be there, the sub, and so far Cameron's mom have agreed to cover. Please consider helping out on this field trip. The more hands on the easier it will be. I have also made a decision that some kids have not proven trustworthy with substitutes and will not be going on this one. I will refund their $1000 and they can attend Red Lodge, but I am not going to allow them to ruin the day. They will be spoken to privately and will have an alternate placement for the day. Everything (buy in money and parent permission slips) are due this Wednesday. The sub will NOT be dealing with paperwork. If it is not in by WEDNESDAY, they don't go. Students may bring electronic devises for the bus. They are brought at their own risk however. Cameras need to stay at home.
On another note, ask your child about their Montana History Guest Speaker from today. Ask them how many reservations are in MT. Then ask them how many different tribes are found on those reservations. (Tell them not to count the Great Falls City one.) Write down their responses for a $20 bonus each tomorrow.
We will be wrapping up our worm unit this week. Today's writing assignment has to do with that topic. Students learned about the earthworm food chain so....Would they rather be a worm or a bird is the big question tonight. :0) Write your response int he planner to earn $10 bonus for your child.
Thanks so much for all you do! Have a soggy worm filled sidewalk night. :0)
