Here they are...the members of the PERFECT ATTENDANCE club for 1st quarter! Brandon, Brooke, Tobias, and Jordan have been at school, on time every day!!!! And one of them hacked and coughed his way through a week of school!! Way to go you four! I appreciate you making school your first job! I hope to see lots more join the club in second quarter. :0)Speaking of attendance...I messed up. On the report cards I wrote the wrong number of days absent. I was supposed to divide that number by two. So if you saw a 4 it was really a 2. Our computer does am and pm attendance so it is doubled on the report. Who knew?? Well, me now. Sorry for the mix up.
I have yet to email out the dual report cards. I hope to do that tonight. It is a crazy week with conferences. Thanks for your patience.
The field trip today was interesting. Kids seemed to be engaged and into it. They learned a lot about space, a skill that will come back to haunt them in the fifth grade. Cool!
Ask you kiddos what they got this morning as a reward for their positive behavior choices. If they can tell you, write it down in their planner and earn an extra $50 tomorrow. During check in this morning, I asked kids how you enjoyed the talking leaves story. Most said they liked it. However, a few responded with a puzzled look. Please make sure you are using these money making opportunities honestly and the right way. Yesterday, they were supposed to retell you the story and THEN you were to write the secret message in the planner. I do these opportunities so you have a discussion point for you and your child. Thanks.
I have really enjoyed visiting with all of you at conferences. I am getting a lot of helpful information. It is nice to just sit down and visit honestly about all students. I look forward to seeing the rest of you tomorrow. Remember, tomorrow is a half day and kids get out at noon again.
Beaver projects will be going back home with the kids this Friday. Please make arrangements for them to be picked up or carried home. Riding a bike and carrying a beaver lodge is probably not going to work out so well. Or, they may go with parents after conferences tomorrow. They have been a great topic of conversation by all students and teachers. So, so cool!
