Mr. Ness spoke with kids today about an incident that happened while he had a sub last Friday. It sounds like the same things the kids are having in here. We are really working hard on talking nicely to each other, and using kind words. So, this week, I have assigned them a secret compliment buddy. They need to start to see the positive in their classmates. They can give compliments verbally or written on a post it note. It was fun to see and hear the positive language today. Keep it up.
Students also retold the Talking Leaves story to each other this morning. It is a tale from the Cherokee tribe about a young Cherokee soldier named Sequoyah. Kids then drew a picture of a Sequoia tree leaf on their rock. They now have to come home and tell you the story and show you the rock. If they do, write the words that they wrote on the back of their rocks in their planners to earn them an extra $100 tomorrow morning at check in.
Have a great night and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!
