Pay It Forward Part 2!

What an awesome turn out for the first day of Rachel's Challenge!! Wowzers!! Tomorrow's fun activities are...

1. Wear warm and appropriate pajamas/robes to school. (Slippers may be brought)
2. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to cuddle with all day!
3. Bring some of your leftover Halloween candy to snack on.

Kids may buy into whatever they want to do for $1 for each activity. Can't wait to wear my jammies to school tomorrow!!

We had our 0, 1, 2, 5, 10, and 11 test today. Most kids were able to finish it in the 11 minutes allotted. They will receive four grades, one for each sheet of problems (3) and one for knowing the problems like they know their name. (Under 11 minutes). There were 132 problems total and each problem was given 5 seconds. Which equalled the 11 minutes, roughly. Students that did not finish in the timeframe were allowed to finish but their time grade went down five points for every extra minute taken. Study, study!

I added three new games onto the blog. Kids need to spend some time on them. They really do help. Kids need to work on their 3s times tables tonight, as they have a test tomorrow. Then we are onto 4s. Like I shared at our conferences, kids that master these are not going to struggle in 4th grade math. Those that don't will be frustrated all year long. They just have to know them.

We also took our Chapter 4 test in Social Studies today. Kids were allowed to use their books to help them. I passed back the States and Capital's test today. I was surprised how many kids lost half points for spelling or capitalization errors when they were given the words down below. Urg! Lots of kids would have scored a 100% if they would have just taken the time to look and double check. Live and learn I guess.

Ask your child what the feeling is this week. If they can tell you then write it in your child's planner for an extra $50 tomorrow at check in. They were also asked to find an object in their room that represented that feeling's color to them. That way when they need to feel that way, they can go grab that object and get there. Yay!

Have a wonderful evening and stay warm!
